Lefties will just see this as another excuse to redistribute wealth to their masses of voters. After all, it's not their fault they were born this way, so it is not just that they be disadvanteged. This is the same argument they make for everything. And the fact that the Declaration of Independence says such and such provides no impediment to them taking what they want. It will just serve to show how racist, classist, sexist... equality of liberty is and provide just another reason to discard it. Such differences if allowed to grow or occur within a political community will be a initiator of stasis tgat will lead to a change in the regime towards the faction that is stronger and more powerful and thus cause resentment and further cause of resentment and conflict to the ruli g part by those who are those unable to benefit and thrive with the community.

This is the follow of allowing open immigration of peoples who will not fit the given community's social make up. This is the warning that Aristotle in Politic 5 would give.

Regards

Cliffordcliffordhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13347008101977796061noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16355954.post-81999502629827432572018-05-31T19:00:23.051+01:002018-05-31T19:00:23.051+01:00Yes, Young coined the term "meritocracy,"...Yes, Young coined the term "meritocracy," which Herrnstein adopted.Larry Arnharthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14619785331100785170noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16355954.post-58000916933971355502018-05-31T16:38:54.610+01:002018-05-31T16:38:54.610+01:00British lefty Michael Young made many of the same ...British lefty Michael Young made many of the same points in his 1958 philosophical novel The Rise of the Meritocracy. He didn't like it.

I see at Amazon that there's a 1994 re-issue. From the publisher's blurb, "In a new opening essay, Young reflects on the reception of his work, and its production, in a candid and lively way. Many of the critical ambiguities surrounding its original publication are now clarified and resolved."Roger Sweenyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12734128265493099062noreply@blogger.com
